Updated Beat License Contract Templates For Producers

Share:

Hey BeatSars family. We know how important it is to stay up to date in this ever-changing music industry and making sure producers rights are protected. We recently hired one of the largest music law firms to draft up new base non-exclusive and exclusive template agreements for you to use today. Not only do these agreements protect our producer members but it also makes sure our artist members are protected as well. We have also added the ability for you to automatically add your collaborators’ publishing writers share in the agreements.

How to update your existing licenses to the new templates

Step 1: Go to My Media > Licenses & Contracts

Step 2: Click the BLUE Customize button next to your existing licenses

Step 3: Scroll down to the Full Customization section and click the RED Reset To Default License Template (Screenshot below)

Step 4: Review the entire agreement and make any custom changes you would like. We highly recommend that you have an attorney review the agreement as well.

Step 5: Save Changes, and everytime you sell a beat license these customizations will automatically be applied to each contract

NOTE: Creating new license agreements automatically defaults to the new template agreements

Publishing Percentages for Collaborators

Producers can now include their collaborators’ writers share of the publishing automatically in the non-exclusive agreements and publishing share in the exclusive agreements. Below are the steps.

Step 2: Click the blue PENCIL icon next to the track you want to edit

Step 3: Scroll down to the COLLABORATOR section in the track form

Step 4: Add your collaborator(s) and set their license sale splits as well as their Writers Share publishing splits (screenshots below)

Step 5: Save Changes, and everytime you sell a beat license these customizations will automatically be applied to each contract
