Aspiring Rapper Arrested After Cop Poses As Record Producer

Zoe “Gangstalicious” Dowdell thought he scored the deal of a lifetime, instead, he is now facing multiple charges.

Aspiring rapper Zoe “Gangstalicious” Dowdell is out on bail and awaiting trial on July 26, for charges that include; two counts of third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny, credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

This all stems from April 25 when someone left a wallet in an unlocked car in Glastonbury, Connecticut.

Police began an investigation and found out that the credit card had been used, and after checking video surveillance, found Dowdell and Joseph Lopez, 19, of Wethersfield, Connecticut were responsible.

They were suspected of using the card multiples times all over Hartford, Connecticut.

The police were able to locate Lopez, but could not find Dowdell. After digging deeper, they found out Dowdell was an aspiring rapper, with numerous videos on youtube and social media platforms.

With this information,  a detective reached out to Dowdell via email, pretending to be a record producer. He informed Dowdell that he liked what he saw and heard online.

They exchanged emails for a few weeks and eventually set up a meeting for Dowdell to come into the “Record Producer’s Office.”

As soon as Dowdell arrived, he was arrested.
